Cleaning up after decorating

After any decorating job the maintenance of your tools is very, very important. Filling knives through to scrapers and rollers through to brushes - if you look after them you will be able to use them again.

A good tip once you have finished painting is to scrape any excess back into the tin and then wash them out in warm soapy water. Polycell Brush Cleaner is the quickest and easiest way to clean your brushes. It contains powerful detergents which break down the paint and makes cleaning them easier.

Pour the used brush cleaner into a jar with a lid and allow it to settle for twenty four hours. Then pour the brush cleaner back into the original bottle ready to be used again. The sludge that is left behind can be allowed to dry and then thrown away.
