Turn a small outdoor space into your very own urban retreat…
1. If you’re going to make the best use of your space, you’ll need storage. Give some old crates a splash of colour on the inside, and hang them on the wall at different heights. Seagrass makes a fitting setting for a mini herb garden.
2. Set the scene and style the space with strung fairylights that encourage using the area in the evening as well as the day.
3. For your garden furniture choose colours that really sing, such as Sage, to make the space feel warm and welcoming for visiting friends and family
4. For larger areas like floors, fences and walls, use lighter tones to create a sense of space: try Silver Birch for decking – anti-slip and protective – and Ashen White for masonry. Small gardens can feel like an extra room with a little imagination!
