Calculate the right amount of paint with these handy tips.
First, estimate the size of the room you will be painting. Measure the width and height of the walls with a tape measure and multiply these values so that you calculate the area.
Calculate the windows and doors of the surface in the same way as you did before, and subtract them from the total square footage.
Multiply your new total surface area by the layers you want to apply. We recommend applying at least two coats. It is also important to add some extra paint for the later finish.
Finally, divide this total number by the number of m²/l on your paint pot (if it is not on the pot, look online for the product information). This will give you the total amount of paint you need for your project.
Remember, the type of paint can make all the difference and so can the manufacturer. If you choose a higher-quality product, you will notice that you need less paint for a good result. Less paint equals a more pleasant atmosphere, and a nicer finish.
